AI Driven HR Specialist

About Aurora Live
Aurora Live operates live events across 10 markets, with approximately 350 employees across the group.
As we continue to grow, we are reviewing and developing our HR processes, systems, and ways of working to ensure they can scale with our business.
We are looking for a proactive, hands-on HR Specialist to join our People team in Barcelona. This is a great opportunity for someone who already has solid HR operations experience, enjoys bringing structure to everyday processes, and is motivated by improving how things work.
We are becoming AI first and we will rethink how growth company HR work is done and in smart and effective way. We already use AI tools to draft HR templates and documentation, and we want to build on that in our routine workflows, with a person reviewing the output.
You’ll play an important role in keeping our day-to-day HR operations running smoothly while helping us build more efficient, consistent, and scalable HR processes across the organization.
What you’ll do
• Manage HR systems and employee data: Take ownership of day-to-day HR administration in Personio, ensuring employee records, documentation, absences, and employee changes are accurate and up to date.
• Coordinate employee lifecycle processes: Independently manage the operational side of onboarding, offboarding, employment contracts, employee changes, and related documentation, ensuring a smooth employee experience.
• Develop and improve HR processes: Actively contribute to reviewing and improving our HR processes, workflows, and systems as the business grows. Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate repetitive activities, bringing practical ideas and helping implement improvements.
• Design and maintain automated workflows: Build and maintain automated and AI-assisted workflows for routine HR tasks, with a human review step wherever an employee is affected.
• Support employees and managers: Act as a reliable point of contact for day-to-day HR questions, providing timely, accurate, and helpful support.
• Improve HR processes and workflows: Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate routine HR activities. Develop clear workflows, templates, and process documentation that help the team work more effectively.
• Support key HR processes: Prepare and maintain accurate data, reports, and documentation for payroll, compensation reviews, performance cycles, and other recurring HR activities.
• Monitor HR data and processes: Perform regular checks to ensure data quality, identify inconsistencies, and proactively resolve issues or escalate them when needed.
• Collaborate across teams: Work closely with HR colleagues, Payroll, Finance, Talent Acquisition, and other stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and smooth execution of HR processes.
• Contribute to HR projects: Support ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening HR operations, improving employee experience, and developing more efficient ways of working.
What we’re looking for
• 2 to 4 years of experience in HR administration, HR operations, or a similar hands-on HR role, ideally in an international or multi-country environment.
• Practical experience working with an HR information system (HRIS).
• A good understanding of employee lifecycle processes, HR documentation, and day-to-day HR administration.
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset. You don’t just identify problems. You suggest ways to solve them.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Has built or improved at least one workflow with an automation tool or an AI assistant, and can say what changed.
• A service-minded approach and excellent communication skills. You enjoy helping employees and collaborating with different teams.
• Confidence working with Excel and Microsoft Office tools. Has used AI tools for drafting, data checks or templates, and knows when a person must review the output before it is used.
• Awareness of data confidentiality, GDPR requirements, and basic employment legislation.
• English at C1 level or above.
What we offer
• The opportunity to take ownership of meaningful HR processes in an international organization.
• A hands-on role where your ideas and improvements can make a real difference.
• Close collaboration with an international People team and colleagues across different markets.
• The opportunity to develop your HR systems, process improvement, and operational expertise with international labor law knowledge.
