Michelle Aepli's Story
What is your role & main responsibilities at Aurora Live?
I’m Michelle Aepli, Account Executive for the Swiss market at Aurora Live, where I focus on driving strategic business growth and building long-term partnerships within the Swiss market. My role requires a strong commercial mindset and combines both developing new business opportunities and managing long-term client relationships, always with the goal of creating sustainable value for both our clients and Aurora Live.
A big part of my role is understanding our clients’ needs, challenges, and growth objectives in order to provide solutions and deliver the best possible client experience. I’m responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing and growing accounts, and building strong partnerships with both new and existing clients. In addition, I work closely with other teams internally to ensure successful collaboration and contribute to Aurora Live’s continued growth and presence in the Swiss market.
What motivated you to join Aurora Live?
What motivated me to join Aurora Live was the purpose behind the business. I saw real value in helping tech companies grow more efficiently by connecting them with the right decision-makers, which made the role feel very meaningful to me from the beginning.
At the same time, I was really drawn to the people and the company culture. The opportunity to work in such an international environment at our Barcelona office, surrounded by colleagues from many different nationalities and cultural backgrounds, was something I found very exciting and inspiring. I’ve also enjoyed working in Sales before and genuinely like connecting with new people on the client side, building relationships, and creating valuable connections - which made Aurora Live a very exciting opportunity for me both professionally and personally.
What makes the Swiss sales team unique compared to other teams?
Definitely the open, supportive and fun way we work together! We exchange ideas, discuss cases very collaboratively, and openly share our thoughts, opinions, and experiences. There’s a very uncomplicated and honest team dynamic where everyone values each other’s input. On a more personal level, we also have fun together as a team: We sometimes joke around about ourselves when speaking in our very strong Swiss German dialects, which creates a great atmosphere and makes the collaboration feel very authentic and close-knit.
What do you appreciate the most about working in Sales at Aurora Live?
It is the constant learning environment. There’s a lot of knowledge sharing, collaboration, and exchange within the different sales teams - whether through sparring sessions, shared experiences, or regular input from colleagues across different markets, seniority levels and departments. It’s a place where you continuously develop both professionally and personally.
At the same time, I really value the team spirit and the personal connections beyond work. We work hard, support each other, but also know how to have fun together - whether during team activities or after-work drinks, which creates a very motivating and enjoyable atmosphere.
How does Aurora Live support you in overcoming challenges in Sales?
One thing I really appreciate at Aurora Live is that you always have someone you can turn to for support. Whether it’s your team manager or colleagues from other teams or markets, there’s always an open and supportive exchange when it comes to sharing advice, discussing challenges, or reviewing specific sales cases together.
This kind of collaboration is incredibly valuable in Sales because it allows you to learn from different perspectives, find better solutions, and approach challenges with more confidence. For me personally, that support system is very helpful when it comes to successfully managing complex cases.
What has stood out the most in your experience at Aurora Live so far?
What has stood out the most to me at Aurora Live is the team mentality. Successes are genuinely celebrated together, and people truly support and cheer each other on. At the same time, during more challenging periods, you also feel that support from the team, which makes a big difference in such a performance-driven environment like Sales.
I really appreciate that balance - being ambitious and pushing each other to grow, while still creating a supportive atmosphere where people want to see each other succeed.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering working here?
My advice would be to come in with an open mindset, stay curious, and have a real willingness to learn. Working at Aurora Live is a great opportunity to grow both professionally and personally, especially if you enjoy meeting new people, learning from others, and working in an international environment. It’s definitely a place for people who are motivated and ready to give their best – while also enjoying the journey together as a team with a real “work hard, play hard” mentality.
